The Kitchen, Dining, and Foyer (Before)

The new house is sooooo awesome and spacious!!! However, there were a few updating things that it needed.

WALLPAPER.....Really....This will never need to come back in style. Fortunately JC hired a contractor to do the updates so I am totally relieved!!! Here are the before and a couple during photos!

Oh and let me not forget to BRAG about my absolutely AWESOME pantry!!! JC thinks I'm crazy because my most favorite things about the house are...in order of importance 1) the laundry room, 2) the pantry, and 3) the garden tub!!!

Our New House (Sneak Peek)

Sooo...this is going to be an ongoing blog! We are a few (3-4) weeks from moving into our new house! The upgrades are beginning today with painting, counter tops, and flooring!!!

BUT...one part is just perfect...the backyard!!!

Presenting in Nashville

I just got back from the Council for Exceptional Children Convention and Expo held in Nashville, TN at the Opryland Hotel. I presented my dissertation research on Friday and had a full house!!! My best friend Shelley and I went together and had a great time. We made a trip to downtown on Thursday and felt like the old days!!

JC suggested a really "country" bar in downtown, Robert's....so that's where we hung out for a while!!

Missy's Twins

Michael and Henry are here!!! Missy delivered her boys at 34 weeks and everyone is doing great! I got to go into the nursery two days later and so I went camera crazy!!! Here they are. Michael is the bigger one!

How long have you been together? Almost 5 months

How old is your man? 35

Who eats more? We are really bad for each other in this area because WE LOVE TO EAT!!!! I think we are pretty much tied. Some meals (especially if it's spicy and my choice) I eat more and other meals (good ole home cooking) he eats more.

Who said "I love you" first? I did! Actually I said, "I heart you!" He thought I said "I hurt you!" He was nervous for a minute! On his birthday, Christmas Eve, I told him I loved him! BUT...have you know, that sometime before that he told me that he was "Falling in love with me!" So I claim this one on a technicality.

Who is taller? He is...barely!!

Who sings better? Of course I do.....as I get on his nerves! I usually sing songs with Savanna!! But if I get a little drink in him....he sings to me!!! AND I love it!!!

Who is smarter? MBA and PhD!!! We're going to have smart kids! He definitely knows daily events and world happpenings like no one I have ever met!! He knows a lot of random crap! I stick to my subject area...people and development!!

Whose temper is worse? He can get fired UP!!!! He wins on this one. I just get quiet and sad!

Who does the laundry? MEEEE!!!! And I don't mind and he loves it! Funny Story!

Who takes out the garbage? Him...I will do it too....but I leave it to him.

Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? From your back or stomach....he sleeps nearest the door...robbers get him first.

Who pays the bills? We each pay our own...with the exception of him helping me with my credit cards! When we live together and then get married...we will have a House account that we each pay into for our living expenses!

Who is better with the computer? HIM! He designs software! But I will say that I was able to answer a question he asked about Microsoft word the other day.

Who mows the lawn? Professionals...or neighborhood kids.

Who cooks dinner? ME.

Who drives when you are together? We take turns really! We both have car seats so either one of us can drive when we have Savanna! I guess it's a gas thing....or depending on where we are going! My car is a little newer (more miles though) and bigger!

Who pays when you go out? HIM

Who is most stubborn? Usually me.

Who is the first to admit when they are wrong? This is equal. If he was out of line he admits it and if I was a little "*itchy" I admit it!

Whose parents do you see the most? This is a pretty good tie also.

Who asked who out? He asked me to meet him out somewhere...but I was busy. So I texted him that I had not stood him up and he should try again. Then he followed up!

Who proposed? He just asked me the other day when I was going to ask him to marry me!!! My reply "that's your job!"

Our First Easter

So....I know he thinks I'm crazy for doing this kind of stuff....but I just can't help it! I love capturing our "firsts" so that one day we can look back and remember what those moments were like!!!
JC and I went to Church (Catholic) with my mom and my brothers. Then, my mom went back to Mississippi like we have done for years and I went to JC's where we had his family and my baby brother over for Easter dinner! These changing traditions is another hurdle that I am learning to work with as we mesh our families! I have always been to Mississippi every Easter with my mom and her family....but this time things have changed a little!

Savanna was with her mom and her family for Easter....but she will be here on Friday to get her basket that the Easter bunny left for her!!
JC and I ended a great weekend out at The Blue Gill restaurant on the bay with some good music and friends!!!

Melt My Heart

I just LOVE my little people!!! They make life so much more entertaining and rewarding! Hiram (Godson) and Hudson belong to my cousin Anna and Caroline and Anna Cooper belong to my cousin Taylor!!! They all know me as "Steph" and I just love when I have any time with them. Note: Hiram (green shirt) just had his tonsils out on Wednesday....soooooo.....he was just barely hanging in there AND Anna Cooper had to leave Easter early on Sunday to get to the doctor with fever and ear aches!!!!
